PicoSure laser

Here's my experience and more information on Picosure laser treatment as promised on Instagram-

I was first approached by Vanguard Aesthetic, a Singapore-based company.
I met with the team in Singapore to be introduced to Cynosure.
Vanguard is the sole distributor of Cynosure in South East Asia.
Cynosure is a manufacturer of a large array of light-based aesthetic and medical treatment systems.
PicoSure is the pioneer of new generation aesthetic laser that doesn't rely entirely on heat
to reduce/remove pigmentation, dark spots, acne scars and even tattoos++
In short, Vanguard >distributes> Cynosure laser machine >provides> PicoSure laser treatment.

I made an appointment with Dr. Hew of The M.A.C. Clinic.
Dr. Hew explained about the laser thoroughly.
Technically explained - PicoSure’s PressureWave™ technology uses
a wavelength of light(755nm)
and a specialized lens to convert laser energy into gentle pressure.
This pressure squeezes the cells to activate the natural cell signaling processes
that create new collagen without burning or damaging the skin.

Now, allow me to explain in English, lol.
Speaking from experience, I tried 2 types of laser before PicoSure.
First time was the very first generation of laser - I'll call it the painful one.
This laser is rough and aggresive, you'll feel and smell the burn on your skin.
You'll need more than a week of downtime including grid scars and redness,
you can't be exposed to the sun.
I think it's called the micro laser but doesn't micro sound small enough?
It keeps evolving, we then have the nano laser, less painful, less downtime (maybe 1-2days).
I've done it 4 times before, it was one of the best options for skin maintenance.
Like I said, it gets even better, it's now pico laser.
What does pico mean?
0.000000000001 in prefix (1000 times smaller than nano)
PicoSure laser is fine, minute and "delicate".
To explain it again, it doesn't burn the skin.
Its pressure is so fine that it actually TRICKS the skin to believe that
it is injured, so collagen will be created to achieve skin revitalization.
Instead of building up heat, PicoSure also delivers energy so rapidly
(in trillionths of a second)for tiny particles that make up pigment and tattoo ink
vibrate and shatter without burning surrounding tissue
(which also means no scar with tattoo removal)
Less heat means less tissue damage and discomfort.

They first took pictures of me to form a 3D model of my face on screen.

I wasn't only impressed, I was also entertained.
This 3D image can be rotated and enlarged.

It is so clear that I can see my pores, scars, my broken capillaries/vessels++

Pigmentation - to show darker spots/pimple scar.
There's a pimple scar on my nose, can you see the dot?
They are all broken capillaries/vessels on my cheeks.
It's kinda genetic, I have thin skin and my skin colour is quite fair.
So, any darker spots will be particularly obvious and visible.
This cannot really be treated with PicoSure, even if it does help,
they'll most probably come back as I said it's genetic.
What PicoSure can do is to reduce my pimple scars, wrinkles, sunspots, discolouration.

Sorry if I scared you right here, lol.
Let's talk about my forehead.
Can you see the dryness and wrinkles on my forehead?
1. My forehead is exceptionally dry, drier than other parts of my face, lol.
2. It's very wrinkly, I think I frown too much(皺眉頭), always bringing my brows together.
You know, the scowling expression? - I do that a lot when I'm stressed.
3. Skin tone is uneven, especially on my forehead because I like to be out under the sun.

I'm lucky enough to not have any major problems *touchwood x1000000*
I have dry skin, acne scars(that you can't see in this picture),
blackheads and big pores on my nose, uneven skin tone.
I did this for skin improvement and of course, to write a review.

I opted for the mildest setting, no numbing was needed.
You can ask for numbing cream if you're worried about any discomfort/pain but
I can tell you that it's just like rubber band snapping your face on low intensity.
To me, it's bearable, no specific prepping to do, just had to wash my face and
wait for the machine to warm up, lol.

Dr.Hew was gentle and meticulous.
The whole treatment only took 10-15minutes.

Right after PicoSure, slight redness but it was all gone after 10minutes.

Last but not least, a cooling mask to soothe my skin.

I actually asked Dr.Hew about special care I need to do after the treatment.
I even asked how many days do I have to avoid the sun.
He said no special steps needed, I can go out under the sun right away and
I just need to stick to my daily skincare routine.

2weeks have passed, I don't see a significant difference but I do see an overall improvement.
My skin is brighter and smoother.
The pimple scar on my nose is gone.

These 2 pictures are without face make up as I was boarding a plane.
On the way to the airport, tired girl but skin is pretty flawless, lol.

On the plane, don't waste a good sun ray.

Here are some of my vain pictures with make up.
Feelin' fabuloussssssss...
